Sploot got his name from the way he just plops down on the floor all spread out - happy and goofy like. Someone dumped this sweet boy off in the parking lot of our vet's office on a Friday evening after they'd closed for the weekend. He waited for two days hoping his people would come back for him but they never did. One of the vet techs there saw posts about him on Facebook went to pick him up on Sunday morning and took him home. He was already neutered so the Vet gave him vaccinations and did a heartworm test, which came back negative. Dr. J said he was a very healthy and happy young man. Sploot made himself comfortable in the vet tech's home as if he'd been there forever. He's a big goofball with a big, silly, lovable personality that seems to be great at causing people to laugh. The doctor guessed that he's about a year and a half old. He looks to be an Akita mix and weighs 80 pounds. He loves everyone but he's so rambunctious that the other dogs in the home can't stand his joyful, bouncy self, and he's not compatible with their farm animals. So he really needs a home of his own. Sploot is good with cats and dogs and he loves kids He is definitely more fond of men than women. He's house broken and crate trained. He does walk well on a leash but will pull if he sees something he wants to chase or that might want to play with him. He is NOT trustworthy around livestock or poultry. He gets way too excited when he sees farm animals. Sploot is a big, lovable goofball with a silly personality. He loves toys, but doesn't fetch, he just gathers all of them and plops down in the middle of the pile. We haven't seen an ounce of aggression out of him. He's just a giant puppy. He loves to be in a lap, loves to go for rides, and just wants to be with his person as much as possible. He'd do well with someone who could take him everywhere they go, and would make a great hiking buddy with another doggy friend. He does know a few basic commands like sit and lay down.
