About Kiani

Adoption Fee: $375
German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Pal's Place would love to introduce you to Kiani (pronounced Key-On-E), an absolutely gorgeous female sable German Shepherd. Pal's Place rescued this stunning girl from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky in December 2020 when she was approximately 8-10 months old. She was quickly adopted; however, she returned for placement after a year when her adopter felt they could no longer care for her after adding a young puppy to the home. Kiani was adopted out again shortly after her return. Unfortunately, her second adoption also resulted in her recently being returned to Pal's Place for placement when her adopter suffered major life changes, and they no longer had the time to care for Kiani properly. This beautiful girl has been failed time and time again by humans through no fault of her own, and she deserves a truly forever, forever home. We are absolutely determined that her next placement will be her last, so we will be very specific in the type of home we seek for her. Please read her entire bio before applying to adopt. Lovely Kiani is estimated to be around 3.5 years of age and weighs 70 pounds. Key is an exceptional German Shepherd in all aspects. She is highly energetic, intelligent, and busy! She is profoundly sweet, eager to please, and loyal. We cannot say for sure since her past is unknown, but her appearance, characteristics, and coloring suggest she is a working-line German Shepherd. She has much more energy, focus, intensity, and drive than the average GSD. Because of this, we feel she will do best with guardians who are experienced in training and living with working line German Shepherds, Malinois, Dutch Shepherds, or similar breeds. Kiani embodies all of the best traits of the breed and is a Shepherd lover and appreciator's dream dog! She's approachable, balanced, and friendly while maintaining the watchful, devoted, protective, and loyal nature for which shepherds are prized. Confident and bold without being dominant or pushy; protective and alert without being aggressive. Kiani is no couch potato and will not be happy with long runs/walks or playing ball a few times a week. We are not exaggerating when saying she could practically run a marathon every day without tiring out or that she will repeatedly drop her ball at your feet for hours, asking you to engage in a game of fetch with her. Her toy drive/focus is very high and is her main motivator, but she will also become obsessive about chasing water (ie, spray from hoses, waves) Kiani will need a job to do and several hours of vigorous exercise a day along with plenty of mental stimulation to channel her energy into something productive. Her second adopter was a dog trainer at a large boarding/training facility, and Kiani was their demo dog. She is very well-trained and knows all her basics and then some! We feel she'd be a fantastic companion for guardians looking to participate or train in canine sports for fun or competition. She will excel in almost any dog sport, such as agility, dock diving, herding, search and rescue, tracking, flyball, etc. Kiani is being fostered with several other dogs and gets along well with her foster housemates, but no cats or small animals for this gal. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and well-behaved in the home. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and successfully treated (in 2022) for a heartworm infection she returned with from her first adoption. Don't hesitate to contact us today if you can provide Kiani with all she needs to thrive! With the proper guardians and environment, she will be a once-in-lifetime dog! She is ready for her happily ever after. Kiani is vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. Kiki is in a foster home and can be seen by appointment only after an application has been received and approved.
