About Izzy

IZZY is a 2.5 year old, 9.10 pound Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us to find a better home. She was adopted and returned after 2 years because the adopter felt she was not providing her with the home that she needed. Izzy is such a sweet girl and her original foster mom was happy to foster her again! It took Izzy a whole 5 minutes to settle back into her foster home. Izzy is a very loving, friendly girl who would Iove a home where she can get all of the attention and love that she deserves. She can be a little shy with new people but warms up in a short period of time. Her foster dad is currently her favorite person. She follows him around knowing she will get awesome treats! She loves snuggle time with her person and can be snippy if another dog comes to invade her space when she is with her person. This is easily managed though and a small, calm dog for company would be fine for her, and probably preferred. She has tried to play with one of the smaller dogs in her foster home and she is not going to be happy spending a lot of time alone. We were told that Izzy loves cats. She does well with older children who visit her foster home. Izzy walks on a leash, does well with her potty training and uses pee pads inside if she can't get out. When we got Izzy back we noticed that her luxating patellas needed to be addressed for her future health and quality of life, so surgery was done to repair both of her back knees. She is doing well but still recovering and a fenced yard would be great for her. At night Izzy loves to sleep cuddled in the big bed with her person. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, heartworm negative, has had a heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Izzy is a great little girl who deserves the best second chance at a forever home! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
