About Archie

We acquired Archie about 2 years ago. He was four months old. He had a pretty significant healed scar on his snout, which no one knew how it got there. He can be unpredictably reactive to other dogs. He does chase the cat. He really loves people, happy to meet new ones, very gentle and loving and always seeking attention. He was aggressive with our female husky when we first brought him home so we got him some official training, and we worked with him. They are friends now. His reactivity continues to pop up with our other rescue male husky who now hides from him in the house. Oddly not out in the yard though. So since we've been unable to eliminate the reactions (we've talked with a handful of trainers), we now believe he would do best as the only dog, then he'll be free to just be his loving, clingy and happy self. If he's the center of attention, he'll be happy without tension or confusion, jealousy or triggers. He's never triggered at a person. Good with older kids. I have not had him around younger kids. He knows basic commands, sit, down, stay, heel (tho he's out of practice over winter), place and leave it (except for a cat). He is house and crate trained. It is with great sadness that we need to find a loving home for Archie so he can relax and our other dog can feel safe. I think he would do best in a home with no other dogs or cats. He loves to sit with you and get pets, loves walks and car rides. Loves people. He's a big lap dog. Rabies is up to date and is microchipped.
