About K.C.

Adoption Fee: $100
Dutch Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Fawn female Dutch Shepherd, b. 2/9/2023. Weight: 76-80 lbs. Loves people and gets along well with dogs. NO CATS--she chases them! Has some training -- sit, come, stay, off, down; loves to eat -- food driven, so treates for training. Needs plenty of 'chew' toys that are difficult to destroy. She is very active and very strong, and needs lots of attention and love, and a good contained area to run and play in. She would make a great family pet; she has not been around children except on outings when she is only happy to see them and enjoy their attention. She tends to be more attentive and more controlled with men. She would be much happier if she had a job to do, and would be a very good choice if you're interested in Obedience trials or advanced work in Search and Rescue, Tracking -- even hunting! She is not registered, but is a full-bred Dutch shepherd with pedigree. She is 'chipped', up-to-date on all vaccinations, heart-worm negative, and she has been on Simparica Trio since she was 3 months old -- no fleas or ticks on this puppy!!! She will need to be spayed. I will provide her medical history upon adoption. I am a disabled veteran and originally purchased K.C. to train as an assistance K9. We began basic obedience training at 12 weeks, and she learned to 'sit' in 3 minutes flat! She's very smart and learns quickly--especially if treats are involved! (I use a combination of hand signals and voice commands when training and can pass those on to her new family to make continued training easier.) Unfortunately, several months after she came to me, I was involved in a major vehicle accident, resulting in major injuries that exacerbated my existing disabilities. As a result, I am unable to continue training with her, and I now must move to a smaller home adapted to accomodate my disabilities. To my dismay, I cannot take her with me, and must rehome her. I have not been able to find a proper home for her, and my move is looming near: I will be leaving on April 3rd. If I cannot rehome her before I leave, I will be forced to surrender her to a shelter. Please, Please, help me find a home for K.C.!
