About Bentley and Winston

Hi everyone. Need help and don't know what else to do. I am 57 years old and live in Fayetteville, AR. My husband and I got remarried last May and he brought our 12 year old English bulldogs with him. For 3 years he had them in Florida when we divorced. Unfortunately my sweet passed away 1/8/24 at MD Anderson. He was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer one month after we remarried. I work full time as an RN and my husband stayed home and took care of the dogs. My husband was 64. Now it is just me and I have severe rheumatoid arthritis which is an autoimmune disorder. Since my husband was diagnosed with cancer my RA has progressed very quickly and medications are no longer working. It is all I can do to work in addition to taking care of the bulldogs. Right now I need several joint replacement surgeries and I am honestly overwhelmed as I am not physically able to take care of them. I have reached out to several local rescue groups but no luck. They are all full. Hoping someone could help. Both boys were recently checked our by out get and she said they look pretty good for their age. I have not been able to keep up with wiping their skin folds and their noses are crusty. My hands hurt too bad to wipe them down. They both need better care than what I can do. The smaller one who is 45# has been on Prozac since my husband died due to anxiety but it is now under control. He is also on Lasix low dose due to cough. The vet said he has 'old lungs' but has not said its congestive heart failure. Bentley has to wear a diaper due to taking the diuretic. Winston is the larger one and he is not on any meds and no incontinence. Praying someone lives local and would be willing to take them. And please no judgement. I am doing the best I can with everything. Thank you so much for reading.
