LOCATION: Chappell Hill, Texas DOB: 02/17/2021 (Estimate) Violet is a beautiful young black Dane mix with a playful spirit. She is cautious with men, requiring slow intros, but she is making progress. Under the patient guidance of her foster mom, she feels safe and takes cues. She has a very silly and playful nature and adores being outside. She also loves being with her people. Although she may be more comfortable with women, Violet's potential shines bright, and with time and patience, she could do well with older children who understand the importance of gentle interaction. However, her exuberance and lack of awareness of her size and strength mean that she may not be suited for households with small or rambunctious children. House trained and pretty well-behaved indoors, Violet does have a fondness for chewing on things she shouldn't, so it's important to keep an eye on her around shoes and kids' toys. She can be easily redirected and needs reinforcement. Her love for the outdoors extends to a talent for digging holes in the yard, adding a touch of mischief to her playful personality. This is just another skill that might require some redirection. When it comes to other animals, Violet's interactions have been limited, but her tendency to chase cats suggests that she may not be the best fit for feline friends. Her behavior around other dogs is uncertain, as she has only encountered them at a distance with some growling and barking. Perhaps with proper slow introductions and socialization, she may flourish in the company of canine companions. She doesn't appear too interested in chickens, but cows and horses seem to get her barking which might just be a size thing. She's the one who is large and in charge! Sassy girl! In terms of training, Violet is eager to please. She still has a lot to learn when it comes to manners. Her enthusiasm often manifests in jumping, zoomies, and playful nipping, but her affectionate nature shines through in the form of gentle kisses and goofy antics. She loves to pick up and carry things around in her mouth that aren't hers with her tail wagging. She loves her toys and blankets and will drag them everywhere-both inside and outside. One can't help but chuckle watching her. Despite her quirks, Violet's sweetness and eagerness to please make her a wonderful companion for the right family willing to provide her with the love, patience, and guidance she needs to thrive.
