About Red-Eared Slider

Simone, is my red-eared slider. My parents bought her for me 12 years ago as a surprise gift from their anniversary trip, when I was 11 years old. Over the years, I tried my best with the resources we had to take care of her, but when I had to go away for college, my Mom offered to take care of her in the meantime. However, nowadays my Mom has become increasingly more busy taking care of both her parents now, and the rest of my family refuses to help or interact with Simone. I, and my Mom, simply don't have the funds to give Simone the proper care she deserves, in addition to me not being home consistently. There also aren't anyone close to us that want to take her in and/or are prepared to. Simone generally likes to be to herself, but is very curious of the world around her. She loves to leave her small water tank and climb over anything she can find around the room. She likes to bury herself under a bean bag or a pile of clothes, and sleep until she is hungry when she reappears and signals toward her water tank. Most times, she doesn't enjoy being picked up, but loves to dance when you scratch her shell.
