About Birdie

Birdie is a 3.5 year old cattle dog mix currently living in Rhode Island. She was rescued on the Cheyenne River Reservation in South Dakota when she was just 4 weeks old. In the time that we have had Birdie, she has brought so much love and happiness into our lives. She is a sweet, funny, and expressive girl with so much love for her people. She is a mix of six different herding breeds: Australian Cattle Dog, Border Collie, Australian Shepherd, Collie, and Australian Kelpie. This makes her exceptionally bright, and it also means that the best place for her is with owners without children who can provide lots of activities, jobs, and space for her to be herself. Birdie struggles with high reactivity and anxiety. It's something that she's worked hard on, and it will likely be something she always struggles with. We are completely heartbroken to be looking for a new home for Birdie, but our growing family has shed light on the fact that she deserves more than we as her current owners can provide.
