About Luna

I desperately need help finding a new home for my 2.5 yr old GSD female LUNA. She needs to be the only dog in the home. I love her and it pains me to let her go but she has an high prey drive at times and she has bit my other dog (while playing) 3 times, causing him to need medical attention and she is the newest member of our home so the tough decision has been made to rehome her. I have tried the home to home website with no leads over 3 months of being listed. I have not been able to find a rescue with space for her. The humane society told me they would euthanize her because of her anxious personality. Around the home she is a sweet girl and actually gets along with my 2 cats, male GSD and kids no problem. She is actually quite calm around the house and kennel trained. She has also been around horses goats and chickens and has not been aggressive. She can tolerate my friends dogs once she gets to know them. She gets very anxious being walked on leash in public spaces. I think her personality would blossom and improve if she had 1:1 attention. Her main issue is the prey drive when running with my male GSD in the yard. I have tried separating them and only letting one dog out at a time but I have young kids that forget and twice now they have been let out together and she bit him playing chase. Please reach out to me for more details or with any leads on a rescue that may have space! I don't want her to be euthanized and that is unfortunately a current option being considered.
