What a great dog! Loyal and protective Australian Kelpie. If you like to play ball, then this is the dog for you. Amazing speed outside. Plays ball inside the house and never knocks anything over. Doesn't chew shoes, carpeting or furniture. Has separation anxiety, but plays the 'stay' game, accepts a dental treat, and obediently sits and waits for his human. Good with little kids and dog people. Enjoys his rawhide bone, which helps his anxiety. Will bond lovingly when treated well. Food motivated :) Learns tricks easily and knows sit, stay, leave-it, roll-over, paw, hi-five, jump, side. A little small for a Kelpie, 40 lbs. Gets stoked with car ride-alongs. He is healthy and eats well; prefers dry kibble with a wet topper twice a day. Does well on a normal reel-leash or a gentle leader. Like most dogs, does best with an hour of exercise daily, with walks and ball-throwing outdoors. Really keen on playing ball with a Chuck-It in a wide-open space. Will leap three feet into the air for the ball easily, which is a breed trait and part of his exercise routine. Trained to swim and retrieve in the ocean. Needs a high fence if he's outdoors. He likes to chase squirrels and critters a lot. Will obediently return when off-leash, called and offered a treat. Best suited for a one-dog household. Behaves very well in day-care and overnight kennel environments, as long as the other dogs are smaller. He's healthy, has no medical issues, has all current shots and gets his nails trimmed regularly. Bed and toys provided. Fee negotiable.
