About Luna

Luna is 65lbs, 7 yrs old, healthy, spayed, up to date on shots, taking monthly HW preventative, no health issues. Luna has always lived inside the house and is housebroken. I have had Luna's DNA done, the results: cattle dog 25%, Chesapeake Ret. 12.5%, lab 12.5%, husky 12.5%, 37.5% breed group unspecified. I'm looking to rehome my female seven year old large dog. Will request vet reference. I have an inoperable brain stem glioma tumor and she is getting to be too much for me to handle. I do not want to take Luna to shelter or have her euthanized. Luna is a dog that would need a strong person, no little children or other small animals. She in the past has been around cats. She would benefit from an experienced owner. She is a beautiful dog with lots of energy, but is okay laying around on rainy days, not uncontrollable. She walks on leash with gentle lead. Rides well in cars. Luna has been to groomer. Needs more exposure & socialization. Food protective so needs to be fed separately. She has experience with ecollars with much success with just beeps. She is smart, trainable and treat motivated. She can get nippy if nervous, therefore, needs experienced handler. She has attacked a smaller dog (beagle) in past, but since has become couch buddies over time. She spends time with 3 other dogs, including running loose in fenced yard. She will escape out door if given chance. I have had her since she was a puppy. She sleeps in my bed and lays beside me on the couch or at my feet. I just cannot handle her due to my cancer. Luna has shown aggression to strangers either to be protective or just her nature. My future will include lots of strangers and I cannot control her. I love her but do not want something bad to happen to her because I selfishly held on to her when I am not what she needs. This has not been easy but is what is needed.
