About Charles Chubbles

Charlie is a wonderful Australian cattle dog mix. He is so loving and full of life, and finds it his job to try and please you with cuddles, licks and being your shadow. He loves to play fetch, go for car rides, taking walks, and playing one-on-one with submissive dogs, (just remove the toys first). You have nothing to worry about when you leave the house, he doesn't counter surf, destroy things, and is house broken. Unfortunately, I'm no longer able to provide him the attention that he needs to be his happiest self, and have to re-home him. Charlie may be a mix, but he has all the quirks that come along with being an ACD; he loves his person, tries to herd the things around him, and has a beautiful smile that warms my heart. He would do best in a home with a structured schedule, adults only, and where he is the primary or only pet. When he was a puppy Charlie was involved in an accident that caused him to lose his left rear leg. On his adoption papers there is little information, but I believe this to be the cause of his guarding behavior at times. While this has gotten better with training, Charlie will resource guard his food dish, new high value treats/toys, and when stressed or scared at night. He seems to find comfort being on a regular schedule and this behavior calms down. If you have experience training or working with a dog that resource guards, you may understand that there could be snapping or biting when in that mode. We have found ways to help redirect this behavior and if you are willing to try new things he will be such a happy addition to your life.
