About Tank

Smart, funny, rebel. Loves to run, play, swim, and try to catch rodents, lizards, etc. Loves to cuddle. If bonds will follow you and do everything you say. Needs a lot of exercise and mental stimulation, which he got previously by running the streets before we took him in. Agility whiz! Does it all the first time but only partly socialized - so not good for shows/competitions yet or maybe ever. Started him on a leash at 2 years old for the first time. He's getting it but is sometimes reactive to other dogs while on the leash. He gets jealous of my other male dog and they really don't get along consistently. Don't know how he would be with kids or cats. He used to have a cat that he hugged and slept with but he was too much for our timid older cat and they never got close even though Tank wanted to. There is a video of him when he was in the streets having engaged a small deer fawn in play around a tree. The fawn was actually playing with him. I imagine he would love to bond closely and be the partner in adventure of his one person if they can give him the exercise and play he needs. Or maybe just room to run on a ranch. He has a lot of Australian Cattle Dog personality traits. I think he is just a lovable misunderstood character and stellar dog who has yet to find his place in the world. Great health. Kennel trained. Leash trained but somewhat leash reactive. Bold, brave, and plays with other dogs but long term at home not good with my other male dog.
