About Ranger

I need to find a new loving home for our precious dog, Ranger. He is a healthy 3 year old Border Collie/Aussie mix, neutered, and up to date on shots. He is a wonderful dog, but does have some challenges that can be typical for herding breeds. The biggest challenge for us is that he does not like children. We recently had a baby and hoped things would improve, but it's not going to work. Kids are too unpredictable for Ranger and they make him anxious. Aside from his dislike of children, he is wary of strangers and takes some time to warm up to people. He also is obsessed with lights shining on walls and it causes him to become stressed. Ranger has been so good to us and we know he would make a wonderful addition to another home. Once he warms up to you, he loves to play, be pet, and cuddle. He has been through numerous training classes (including a 3 week board and train), knows most commands, and is great on a leash. He has taken a few agility classes and loves them. He gets along with most dogs and would do well in a house with another dog he can play with. He was raised around cats, and tolerates them. Ranger needs to go to a home with an experienced dog owner (preferably with herding Breed experience), without children, that has a large fenced yard, and a family that will be patient with him as he adjusts.
