About Watson

Watson is a very sweet and smart blue tick coonhound. He does really well to go with the flow of things. He's great with people and is very popular when we go to public places. He sometimes struggles with other male dogs, especially if they are not neutered, but can open up. His last best friend was a male Doberman. Watson is very food motivated and you would have to 'Watson proof' the house before leaving him unsupervised. That means making sure there is no food or trash out. Even if it's in a can, he would love to get into it. I really love Watson and am only doing this post to put out feelers to see if there even is an option for him because I refuse to see him go to a shelter. I moved from IL and he's been having a hard time adjusting from a house where he was never alone to an apartment where I have to leave him alone for some time. I won't go into detail about what I've tried to help the situation but it just comes down to the fact that he hates being alone (dogs are pack animals, after all). When I leave the apartment I do my best to set him up for success but he can be destructive trying to find a way out. I've also tried crate training but he refuses to stay in a crate. He will literally destroy and break his way out of any crate, metal or hard plastic. Anyway, I'm not sure I can continue to afford fixing the things he breaks when he's alone. He did really well previously when he at least had another dog around but I am not about to try to fix a dog problem with another dog. If you're interested in Watson I would have to verify that you can provide him a good and safe home. You would also have to agree to never put him in a shelter and you would call me if it gets to that. Thanks for reading.
