About HERSHEY

Adoption Fee: $550
Pit Bull mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Hershey! He is a 2-3-year-old, 46 lbs. Chocolate Pitbull mix. Hershey is an extremely sweet, docile, and loving boy. He loves to be in his best friend's (this could be you) company and will rest his head on your lap while watching tv. He loves to go outside for long walks and visits to the dog park to burn off energy. He loves to play with toys (under supervision), finds the perfect spot in the house to sunbathe while he sleeps, and will follow you wherever you go. He often plays nibble/bites when he is overly excited, but that is just his way of showing his love for you. Hershey is food and treat oriented. In the short time fostering, he has learned several new commands. He is extremely intelligent. He likes almost everything, including digging holes at the park, rolling in grass, playing with toys, and sleeping. He does very well during bath time and on car rides. Training: Hershey is completely potty trained. He walks extremely well on a leash and comes back immediately when he is off leash and called over. He is crate trained and spends the day in the crate when nobody is home. No accidents have occurred so far. He sleeps in the bedroom on his own bed and sleeps through the night peacefully. Hershey was found emaciated with lesions and scars all over his body but is now the HEALTHIEST boy. He will only need his monthly preventative heartworm medication as he does not suffer from any other medical condition. Hershey is friendly with almost all dogs (has not been around cats but would probably be perfectly fine). He loves to play with his stepbrother (Cash, a min. schnauzer) throughout the day and enjoys co-napping with his brother as well. He knows how to measure his own strength when playing with other dogs and has never injured himself or other dogs during playtime. He is very social and loves interacting with other dogs. Hershey is good with kids. He does like to play nibble/bite so it can be expected, but zero aggression has show thus far. Hershey would thrive in most homes; he adapts extremely well to his surroundings. He knows when to play and when to rest and just wants to be loved.
