About Buddy

Buddy is a wonderful 3 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Great Pyrenees mix (46% ACD, 36% GP, 10% Akbash, 3% Australian Shepherd, 3% Border Collie, 2% Miniature American Shepherd). We rescued him in November 2023 from a small city animal shelter where he resided for over a year. We guessed he was shepherd mixed with lab or Golden Retriever. DNA test proved otherwise! Nevertheless, he is sweet to his family, great with our cats, crate trained, potty trained, and healthy as can be and weighs 55 lbs. He's protective and suspicious of strangers (not aggressive, but alert to their presence), smart, loyal, and energetic. All common traits to his dominant breeds. He loves walks and is good on a leash and is also a good on-leash running companion. We are making the tough decision to rehome Buddy because he would be much better suited on a farm or ranch or large property where he can run and play all day and wouldn't be expected to interact with people outside of his immediate family. As stated before - he's not aggressive but he'd much rather save his love for his family. Thank you for considering Buddy.
