About ROOKIE

Adoption Fee: $800
Cairn / Schnauzer
Age: Puppy
Sex: Male

Hi! my name is Rookie. I am a Border Terrier mix boy and weigh 18.73 lbs (8.5kg). I am 1 year old, neutered and fully vetted. I was a stray dog and taken to Hampyoeng local shelter in Korea last fall. The shelter was infamous for performing euthanasia twice a month. In shelter, we were not given enough food and water in time and the environment was terrible, so infectious diseases were always spreaded. So, more often than not, dogs there died prematurely due to natural causes rather than euthanasia. I was about to be subjected to euthanasia in November. Furthermore, hunger and skin itchiness made me more scared as each day passed by. Fortunately, I was rescued right before euthanasia performed and got a medical check. Due to malnutrition and a terrible environment, I was diagnosed with dermatosis, hair loss, and heartworm disease. Thanks to care of foster parents in Korea and other people's support, I could be neutered, vaccinated, and received heartworm treatment. Finally, I became a very healthy dog! In order to find my forever family, I moved from Korea to foster home in LA this February. I love to go for a walk, play tug of war, and have treats with dog friend in my foster home. These days, my favorite time is relaxing with my foster parents on the sofa. My foster parents speak highly of me that I am such a sweet and smart boy! If you think I'll be a good fit for your family, please submit an application for adoption! -Rookie *If you reside outside of CA state, there will be an additional fee so I can be transported to your state! [[ Adoption fee for our dogs are *$800, and this includes: 1. Health examination 2. Rabies, parasite prevention treatment 3. All other vaccinations required by USDA 4. Spay / neuter 5. Microchip 6. Veterinarian inspection certificate 7. Airline approved Kennel 8. Airfare (from Korea to US) 9. Airport transportation 10. Customs Broker Fee [Entry and paperwork approval into US Airport customs clearance] The adoption fee is same for dogs that are already in the United States, as rescuer paid all the fees upfront. In that case, we will use the fee you pay to rescue another dog from the shelter and bring to the U.S. You're not just saving one dog by adopting, but two as you are saving another dog that can take over your dog's spot in the foster home.]] www.charmadopt.org
