About Thor

Meet Thor! This handsome 10 yr old 65 lb American Pitt bull Terrier is looking for his forever home. He lost his home when his owner died suddenly and he was left alone without food or water. He was rescued by South Hampton Roads Adoptable Pets. Don't let the graying muzzle fool you, Thor still has plenty of spunk. He loves to go for walks, car rides, roll in the grass or just curl up by your feet while you read or watch TV. The biggest thing for Thor is he just wants to be near people. Thor's ideal home would be as an only dog without small children. He has lived with other animals and may be good with the right match. Like a lot of people, Thor can be a bit stubborn in his golden years, but he listens very well with firm but gentle verbal cues. He instantly loves all human females but can be choosy with men and requires a slower introduction. Thor had to live in a boarding facility for a while until a foster could be found. It took some time for him to decompress in the foster home so he may need some patience and time to adjust in a new home. Once he learns he can trust you, he will be your loving loyal friend forever. Thor had to learn to be crate trained quickly in his foster home due to the resident dogs. It isn't his favorite thing but can be lured in with a tasty treat. He knows his basic commands, walks nicely on a leash, still learning leave-it, and will sit and wait patiently for his dinner.
