About BUMI

Bumi is a 3 1/2 year old neutered male Belgian Malinois that we rescued May 2021. We are trying to rehome him because him and our Pitbull are both alpha males and do not get along all of the time, specifically when we are out of town and someone else is watching them. 6 months ago, Bumi started having seizures. We have done many tests with the vet and have not found a cause, so the vet believes it's most likely a brain tumor. He takes Gabapentin every 12 hours. We fill it at Costco and it's usually $13 a month. Bumi resource guards, specifically with food. He sleeps in a kennel at night and spends most days outside. He loves to be outside, patrolling our backyard. He loves knuckles in his ears and he is definitely vocal when he enjoys it. Bumi most likely needs a home without other animals or at least without another alpha dog. He is such a good boy, and is so truly so loving. He is energetic and definitely needs exercise. He is food motivated and he is so smart. We did training with him and he caught on very well. We do not know how he is with children and he takes a minute to warm up to some men. We believe this is partly due to environment we rescued him from. All of the men who have come into our home, he has done well with - he just took a session to warm up to our dog trainer.
