About Niko

Niko is a healthy, playful almost 2-year old little boy who is a total lover pants! He absolutely loves to snuggle and gives kisses. He makes the cutest little blinkies when you give him a good scritch and is quick to flash some belly for some rubs. What Niko needs to thrive in his furever home: Someone who is home most of the time because he wants lot of love and playtime plus it helps to deter his separation anxiety! He loves to play tug with his stuffed avocado but if foster mom is on a work call, he is content to curl up in his bed in her office with his nylabone. - He would love to have a four-legged playmate. His senior foster fursibling does not care for Niko's vibe but he desperately wishes she would play with him. - Patience - he may have a little separation anxiety that either could be helped with some extra confidence building or, if you find it severe enough, chat with your vet for options. - Belly bands/diapers/pee pee pads/structure - he's not fully housetrained yet but we're working on it. He is pretty good with the pee pee pads but does occasionally find somewhere with a little more 'privacy'. - Niko has springs in his feet! He loves to bounce and he gets pretty good hang time! He also enjoys a good climb so be careful with any open-top kennels or fencing that may just be a rock-climbing adventure for him. - He can be a little mouthy sometimes but he's not actively trying to bite. For this reason, I would caution against a household with young children. Older kids who understand that he just needs to be told 'kisse's, not bities' would be fine though. He does switch to kisses quickly after a gentle reminder. - He seems to love being outside. Having access to a secured yard or at least someone who lets him out throughout the day for playtime, walks, etc. would be perfect. - A big bed to share with his people. When the lights go out, he immediately settles down and will curl up in the crook of your knees. He'll stay up on the bed with you the whole night.
