About Tanner

Meet Tanner, who was found abandoned with his brother, Mickey, in a crate by the side of the road. They were terrified and traumatized when they were brought to our shelter. Both five-month-old puppies are super sweet, and they both need someone who will be home and can give them puppy training and lots of love and attention. Tanner is a bit bigger than his brother, and weighs about 25 lbs. We think he will grow to about 40 lbs. He also looks like a lab/ shepherd mix and has the most amazing ears!!! Tanner is a little more interested in people than in other dogs, but he loves them both. He is a bit dominant with his brother, but he does not have an aggressive bone in his body. He is super sweet and cuddly. Tanner is very smart and learns quickly. He is very athletic, too: he can even climb his foster mom's 6' fence. He is a puppy and will need training. His foster mom says you will want to puppy proof your home just to be on the safe side. As oted above, Tanner would be best with an owner who is home most of them time and who understands dogs and has experience with them. Right now, he cries and shows some separation anxiety when left alone and does not like the crate; but again, he could be trained to accept it if you really want him to be crate trained. Rest assured: all your efforts will be rewarded!! Tanner will attach himself to you and be a faithful and committed companion.
