About Luna

Meet Luna! =) She is an 8 yr. old Yellow Lab/Red Heeler/Boxer Mix. She is loyal, loving and protective with a Huge Heart that wants to learn and please. She is a very smart, deep-feeling animal, always there with a nudge and a hug when I am suffering from anxiety or panic attacks. =) I have been her sole caretaker for months now...and must find her a new home ASAP, as my health has deteriorated and I am confined to a wheelchair& mobility scooter. I was born with Cerebral Palsy...and for the last almost 4 years, I have been struggling with an R.A. diagnosis as well. I have attempted to rehome her on multiple FB sites, with no interest as of now, so I decided to post her here! PLEASE help me, help her!! I have 2 upcoming surgeries @ OHSU: One Tuesday, Feb. 27th; and 1 March 4th, 2024. I have to find her a new home THIS WEEKEND, or I will have to surrender her to the Cowlitz County Humane Society Monday. My heart is breaking for her, but I know she deserves a better life than I have been able to give her for awhile now. The truth is she has been neglected; my LOVE for her and hers for me; is NOT enough! She spends most all of her day in the house with me; and loves it when I throw her rope toy down the hallway, but she deserves more of a life than I am able to give her by myself. She needs someone to take her on walks and who can play with her outside. She deserves to THRIVE ~Not just exist!! She loves kids and does great with our 7 and 5 yr. old grandsons. She does great with other dogs after a slow introduction, but has never been around cats, so I am not sure how she would do. She has mostly only been around our family. She is spayed and current on her Rabies vaccine, but will need her booster shots and a nail trim, so I am not asking for an adoption fee. I HAVE to rehome her NOW! She is not a fan of nail trims, but tolerates them with a lot of love and kind words spoken to her. She loves 'booty scratches' and belly rubs She has had no training and pulls hard when you try to walk her on a leash, but I believe with time and patience, that would change. I am hoping someone sees this post and has room in their heart and life to give Luna a Forever Home! She has a beautiful smile when she is happy; and I want to see her happy again! Thank You! =)
