About Kai

Kai is a 5 month old puppy who came to us with broken legs. They have since healed, however wearing splints on his legs for six weeks caused some damage to his ankles. Currrently Kai walks, runs and plays like any normal puppy, but his feet are not positioned correctly. He is going through formal PT twice per week to help correct that. We would love to find his forever home now with a family that can take Kai to his appointments at baseline and Lindsey for the next 6 weeks. The rescue will continue to pay for those appointments. We hate that at such a young age he is not spending this time bonding to his forever family. Although his foster parents and rescue love this little boy very much, we all know it's a matter of time before he moves in and no longer needs us. Unfortunately, Kai dos not know that and the longer he stays in his foster home the harder it will be on him to say goodbye. Kai is a very loving sweet boy, and anyone would be very lucky to have him in their life. He is potty trained. Even when Kai could not walk he would hold it until someone carried him outside and held up his rear end for him so he could relieve himself. Of course now he can walk outside himself and has no problems. He is crate trained, not destructive, and walks great on a leash. He knows sit and down and come. Working on stay, but he is getting there. He is a very bright little boy that just wants a family he can trust, and who will be there for him forever. He prognoses is very good. Our Adoption Process... If you are interested in adopting one of our fun loving not so rotten rotties, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire that will allows us to get to know you better and to make sure the dog you are looking at is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. You can access our questionnaire by going to our website, www.rottenrottie.com click on the forms tab, and fill out the questionnaire and submit it online. After we review your answers, if we feel that the dog that you are interested in, is not a good fit for you and your family, we may recommend a different rottweiler companion. After we determine which Rottweiler(s) is the best for you, we will set up a time so that you can meet him or her at their house, where they will feel most comfortable and act as they normally do. We will require a home check to make sure the dog is going to a good home. An adoption contract will be signed to finalize the adoption and we do ask for a rehoming fee of $500 for most adults, $350 for most of our seniors 6 years and above for any rottweiler mix of any age (except puppies) . Our fees for puppies fluctuate depending on how much we had to invest into them or their litter, and weather they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary so that our organization may continue to rehome rottweilers. ALL of our dogs are sterilized, fully vaccinated and microchipped, heartworm tested negative and come with a collar and a leash. We have also addressed any injury or illness that they had when they came to us, or received in foster care. These problems will be disclosed to the adopter prior to adoption. please be advised that in almost all cases we will not adopt our dogs to folks who live in different states. On rare occasion, if we feel that it is a PERFECT for both you and the dog, we sometimes will break that rule for our neighbors who live in Las Vegas.
