About Koda

To meet KODA and be considered for adoption you must first submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION using this link- https://form.jotform.com/232395363383057 or by filling out an application on our website- www.aplaceofhoperescue.com KODA is a 1 year old, 11 pound adorable Chihuahua mix that we pulled out of a criminal hoarding/backyard breeding situation. *She was adopted and recently returned because she was too playful for one of the dogs in her adoptive home. LOCATION: Pensacola, FL NEEDS: A playful furry friend, active family, and a fenced yard. Koda (her name means 'little bear') is the sweetest, most loyal girl. She greets you with tons of kisses and a wagging tail whether you have been gone for 5 minutes or 5 hours. Wherever you are, she is too! Koda loves her person. Koda has a lot of energy and loves to play with all size dogs. She is going to need a home with a playful younger dog friend. She has been around kids and is great with them. She has not been around cats and we are not sure how she would react but she's young and can learn! Koda seems to be house trained and knows how to use a doggy door. Since she has been with us she has not been in a home without a doggy door so she may need to adjust to a potty schedule in a new home that doesn't have one for her. She is not leash trained but could learn as she really loves pleasing her person. She should have a home with a fenced yard and lots of playtime! Koda loves to play with toys, but get sturdy ones because she will pull the stuffing out if she can! She enjoys being out in the yard (when you're out there) and rides very well in a car. At night Koda loves to cuddle with her person all night long. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Koda is friendly and snuggly and will be a fantastic companion dog for almost any family. *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
