About

Adoption Fee: $200
Great Pyrenees / Catahoula
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

I am potentially looking to rehome my almost 5 year old Great Pyrenees Catahoula mix (she has a few other breeds mixed in as well attaching her DNA test) Mabel. I want her to go to the right forever home so I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to find the right place. She is UTD on vaccinations and won't need them again until September I'll include the information from North Palouse Vet Clinic. She isn't fixed but is healthy and been genetically health tested through embark. Now onto the cons of Mabel she isn't a great dog for apartment life unfortunately thats where we are at at the moment. She is a barker like any noise she isnt used to. She isn't a fan of strange people or children she hasn't met before. She is 70 pounds of muscle and can literally drag me around like a rag doll if determined enough. She has a massive pray drive thusly shouldn't be around chickens small animals or any birds at all I think with the right training she would be an amazing duck hunting dog. She has horrendous separation anxiety if I leave her for 5 minutes I come back to the house destroyed and she's had an accident inside. She has pretty bad leash manners as well. She doesnt get along with other dogs at all and has begun to attack my 8 year old senior Pyrenees. I had to wash her as my service dog because of this. Now onto the Pros of Mabel. She's very cute. She can be smart when she wants to listen. She's kennel trained and knows a few basic commands sit, down, up, wait, paw, and other paw. She's a great guard dog she'll alert the whole neighborhood that you've made it home. Once she meets people she's great with them. She loves camping, hiking, and being able to run freely off leash and her off leash recall is not bad not perfect but not bad. Very loyal. Very treat motivated. She likes/gets along with cats. She thinks she's a lapdog. She is content either being on the floor or on the couch and will get off when you tell her to. She's mostly pottied trained other then the separation anxiety accidents. She is muzzle trained. She's super goofy and a very energetic fun dog she loves to play tag and chase. She'll come with a kennel, her leash, her Jaffco muzzle, her bowl ,a little bit of food ,her favorite blanket ,a harness ,and some toys. I love her a lot I just realize I'm not the right home for her because i don't have a yard and i'm too disabled to run her. I would love to stay in contact with whoever adopts her and would be willing to take her back in the event she doesn't work out or you're no longer able to care for her. There is a 200 dollar rehoming fee to insure she goes to the right place.
