Malcolm showed up on our front porch on a freezing cold night approximately 1 month ago. His previous people could not be located, so we have been caring for him since then. He's a ~3 year old pit mix. He's calm, friendly, house trained, knows basic commands, listens well, and has proven to be very smart and trainable. He is calm in the car, OK on a leash, and has not been destructive in our home. He loves chew toys, belly rubs, treats, and cuddling. He's a wonderful dog. We'd love to keep him, but we are not prepared for dog ownership and already have 2 cats that have been antagonistic towards him when we attempted introduction. He seems a little bit scared of them, but I can't trust them not to provoke him, so we've had to keep them separate at all times. When he's encountered people, cats, and other dogs in the vet's office or park, he's been friendly or ignored them. We are looking for a loving home for him as soon as possible.
