I'm Pria, I was found as a stray in Texas, I was having such a hard time in the shelter I just wanted to hide in the corner. Thankfully I caught a ride to Wisconsin, and let me tell you a house with couches and snuggles is the life for me!! Pria is a gorgeous, (golden) brown eyed shepherd mix. She is listed as a 2 year old but she certainly has a lot of puppy personality in her still so she may be younger than listed. Due to how scared she was in the shelter we didn't know what to expect, but Pria jumped off transport and was immediately on the hunt for love and affection from anyone who had a free hand and she tried to say thank you with kisses. Pria met the resident pup at her foster home and did well with a controlled introduction. Pria is a little unsure of how to play with her foster sister but she is trying and will learn with time. When it comes to the crate Pria doesn't love it (she'd rather be with you) but she will go in for a good snack and once inside she settles down quickly and sleeps through the night. Pria is really smart and super food motivated it took her no time at all to master sit (she doesn't know the word but she knows that the action comes with snacks) and her foster mom is working on other basic manners with her. Pria takes treats really well from an open hand, if you use just your fingers she can get overexcited about the treat and snap for it. Pria gone for a few car rides and done amazingly well! She lays out in the back seat and didn't make a peep. Pria eats in her crate with a slow feeder to avoid any conflict over food as she has some fear that the other dog will take her food which can lead to tension. Though she eats her meals alone Pria can get treats at the same time as her foster sister without issue. Pria had a few accidents when she first arrived, but we have started a schedule plus rewarding after going potty and this is working really well!! When she is inside (in true shepherd form) Pria will follow me around the house, and when I sit down she is more than happy to sit with me on the couch, lay at my feet or find a sun puddle on the floor to relax in. Pria would do well in a household that can take her out to play or go for nice walks, (she is not a crazy high energy dog but she's not a couch potato either). She walks pretty well on leash but if something smells super good she will pull. Pria would absolutely thrive as an only dog however she could also live with another dog friend who can give her space while eating. It is unknown if Pria is good with cats as her foster home doesn't have any, I think if a cat ran there is a good chance she would chase but if it sat still she may just ignore it (but this is just my opinion). Based on personality Pria would likely do well with respectful older children simply because she has so much puppy personality still and doesn't know her size so she may jump up on them especially if they are running around. Pria is a wonderful sweet girl who will attach to her humans and be fiercely loyal to them. She just needs someone to give her a home and love and continue teach her what the good life looks like.
