Hi there! My name is Lucky, and let me tell you a little about myself. One day, fate brought me into the lives of my current family when they were leaving the dog park with their two furry pals. As they were about to drive away, I trotted up to their vehicle, hoping for some love and attention. They looked around for my owner but couldn't find anyone, and my microchip information turned out to be fake. I had been abandoned, but these wonderful humans took me in without hesitation. I'm a charming German Short Haired Pointer mix with the most adorable spots, almost like a cow's coat, and I proudly show off my pointer pose wherever I go. One of my cutest traits, if I do say so myself, is that one ear stays perky while the other flops down - it adds to my unique personality! At approximately three and a half years old, I'm in my prime, ready to bring joy to a new home. As an only dog, I'm a sweet and excitable girl who adores attention, especially from the male members of the household. I'm playful and cuddly, always up for a game of fetch or a stroll around the neighborhood. Walking is one of my favorite activities, and I'm a well-behaved walker with minimal pulling - I've got that part down pat! I've lived happily with my two doggy siblings for about two years, but sadly, one of them passed away a year ago. Since then, tensions have risen between me and the other dog, especially around our male owner. It's been tough, but my humans have decided it's best for me to find a new home where I can thrive. I do best as the only dog in the household, soaking up all the love and attention for myself. While I haven't interacted much with cats, my high prey drive suggests it might be best to avoid them. I'm currently on two anxiety medications, which are relatively inexpensive and help me stay calm and happy. Despite my past experiences, I'm a quick learner and respond well to training - I know all sorts of commands like recall, sit, lay down, and even some fun tricks like finding toys! I'm looking for a slightly quieter home environment with a single person or a couple who can keep up with my energy levels. Experience with dogs is a bonus, as I sometimes get excitable, especially when meeting new friends. Despite some rough patches in my past, I'm not an aggressive pup - just a bit fearful when I get overwhelmed. With patience, understanding, and lots of love, I can blossom into the best companion anyone could ask for.
