I have been a breeder of Persians and Himalayans for 30 years and began breeding Bengals 5 years ago. I found that when I bred the Bengal to a Persian I got kittens that looked like Bengals but were noticeably calmer. I do have, unfortunately, a bad Bengal boy kitten that seems to be on the wild side. He is stunning to look at but is highly resistant to any kind of physical attention. When I reach out to pet him while he is asleep he is immediately awake and gone!! He is impossible to touch when he is awake and will claw me if I try forcing him to be picked up. I have never encountered anything like this in all my years of breeding. There is no way I can sell this kitten to someone expecting an affectionate ball of fur. He needs someone who is up to the challenge of trying to 'gentle' him. I am in a wheelchair and despite trying to do this myself, it just isn't working. I have requested a small donation fee, which I will match, to be given to Rescue Me.
