About Zeus

Zeus, 'Bosom Buddy, Lifelong Pal' Our little guy, Zeus, is an approximately 18 month old, double merle Mini Aussie. This fellow is only about 20 pounds and most of that is his big beautiful bestie heart! Zeus has all the sweet nature that so many deaf and vision impaired (mydriasis-fixed pupils) pupsters possess. All he asks is to be the center of your heart,...and your attention. Zeus wants to be your next best pup, boon companion and bosom friend. We don't think he has a social media presence, but if he did, Zeus would definitely aspire to be an Influencer- he'd want all the 'hearts'. Zeus is in the awesome care of a very, very experienced Foster Mom. He has been around dogs of varying sizes and especially loves on the younger puppies. Truly, there isn't much Zeus doesn't like-toys are tops and cuddles are coolest. Zeus is crate trained, and house trained-he uses a doggie door. When folks are gone, the Zeuster should be in his crate. Our fella knows several hand signals, and sits to wait his turn for yummies. Leash training is still at novice level. Zeus, is a medium Aussie energy fellow with an eager to please and confident personality. The special thing about Zeus is his innate self assurance and determination not be left behind. If you can give any dog time, training and love, chances are you can adopt a boy like Zeus. Forever After? Well, they are the kind of people who have lots of hugs to give and loads of love. They'll be confident and adaptable-like Zeus. They don't get how others can do life without a dog. Maybe they are the type who think a little differently than the 'norm' and put a little extra into their days to get a little more. They don't see Zeus and think 'Oh, poor thing.' He'd be offended. They see a lifelong Buddy. They see a dog who loves to BE. His potential Forever has some experience or has educated themselves on the joys, quirks, and particular needs of a special Aussie before filling out an adoption application. Since Zeus is deaf and has visual impairment, a fenced yard is important. It may not be necessary for a specific kind of adopter-experienced with herding dogs, home all the time, committed to leash training, never, ever lets a dog out off leash, etc. Kiddos 8ish and up, raised to respect dog language, needs and boundaries will be besties with Zeus. A laidback dog friend or two would be perfect. Zeus should be fine with dog savvy kitties. Multiresidential buildings (such as apartments) are not always a good fit for this pup. The best adopters give their new family member time to decompress and grow familiar with a new environment and routine. They see the importance of investing time to understand their dog and build a bond of trust and provide steady, reasonable guidance and training. An adopter commits to slow, monitored introductions with new people, especially children, other animals, and new places. Our Zeus had to say- 'I'm just looking for a lifelong Bestie.
