About Bentley and Talia

Adoption Fee: $200
Rabbit
Age: Senior
Sex: Male

Bentley & Talia are a bonded pair of seniors looking for a retirement home in Miami together. Bentley (black & white) is a 10.5 y/o dutch - dwarf mix who is just 3lb. Most bunny parents only wish their beloved rabbits would live to be 10. But Bentley's old owners surrendered him because he got too old and they didn't want to deal with his declining health. Like most seniors Bentley has arthritis. He gets pain medication to manage it twice a day and he is all too happy to take it. He also can't see very well because he has glaucoma. He feels much better now that he is seeing an ophthalmologist regularly and is getting daily eye drops. Bentley is incredibly sweet, he gives kisses, and loves to cuddle and be pet. Because of how extremely affectionate he was (and because it was unlikely that anyone would apply to adopt Bentley because of his age) his foster asked if he could be introduced to a friend. He met Talia at the end of 2022 and they have been inseparable ever since. Talia (tan) is estimated to be 9+ y/o and weights 4.5lb. She spent years living outside in one of the many wild colonies of domestic rabbits South Florida. The life expectancy for rabbits living outdoors is just 1-2 years; this is due to predators, parasites, incremental weather and illness. Talia was captured with a foot injury after a particularly bad hurricane at the end of 2022. Having lived outside for years Talia was essentially feral. She was terrified of humans. Meeting Bentley and seeing how much he loved to interact with his foster showed Talia that maybe humans weren't that bad afterall. It took months if gentle coaxing, and a generous amount of food bribery, but Talia now accept gently head rubs and lays sprawled comfortably along side her husbun. Bentley & Talia are safe in a Sanctuary Foster Home with one of our long-time fosters. Their foster is committed to keeping them for the rest of their lives but she has multiple other fosters and 4 personal rabbits if her own. They would love a Sanctuary Foster Home of their own where they could get all of the attention and spend their retirement years getting spoiled. Meet and Greets can be done in Miami-Dade or Broward Counties. You can apply to adopt her here: https://pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits/adoption-application/
