About Charlize

DOB: 09/02/2018 She has congenital Mega Esphagus (ME) What Charlize {as we call her} needs in her forever home is a family that understands what Megaesophagus (ME) is and is willing to accommodate her needs. A family that has a plan for an energetic dog. Because of her ME and her energy level a home with kids over 12 or no kids would be best for her. She is High High energy. She won't do well for 8 hours alone. Charlize eats in a Bailey Chair. After eating she needs to rest for at least 30 minutes in her chair upright. After a heavy play session instead of drinking tons of water we give her dog jello cubes or 12 oz of water with kibble and she stays upright for 25 mins. When panting she will cough to clear her throat. She will need to sleep with her neck hug pillow on. Charlize has her own Bailey Chair, Neck hug pillow that will go with her when she finds her forever home. Charlize is a very sweet playful girl. She loves fetch. She will bring the ball back every time and drop it in your lap. She shares toys and bones with her foster brothers and the dogs that come over for play dates. She will snuggle up with you in the evening on the couch. She is potty trained. She is free roaming with her two foster brothers when we leave them alone. She picks a spot on the couch and sleeps. Charlize is doing great with her off leash training. She will stay in the front yard and not jump down as people walk past her. If they have a dog she will still stay in the yard and not jump down with some coaching. She is a puller on the leash. She has not destroyed anything in our home. The most she has been left alone is four hours with her Foster Brothers. She knows sit, crate, wait, down, shake, heel, drop it, cross, house, free and yard. Labrescuers.org
