About Lassi

Hello, I'm Lassi, a 1.5-year-old apricot-colored Golden Retriever mix. We believe I am likely a Golden Retriever Shepherd mix, or less likely, maybe even a Chinook. I'm a very gentle and sweet girl who loves to cuddle and play. I am also very expressive when I hear sounds. I even enjoy watching a bit of television, depending on what is on. I'm very tender-hearted and would be great with an adopter who needs a low-energy, calm and mildly mannered dog. I get the zoomies with super fun and playful energy when we go in the backyard. I love toys and I will entertain myself by flipping stuffies in the air and chasing after them as they land. I enjoy sitting outside in the cool weather and giving people hugs as we snuggle on the sofa. I'm house and crate trained. I can be left out of the crate while my people are away without any issues as I don't chew on furniture or other belongings. I do have a quirky behavior whereby I will steal your shoes if you are gone for longer periods of time. Don't worry. I won't chew or eat them. I just bring them to my crate or bed and will hug and nap them until you return. I love going for walks and am excellent on the leash. I will pull a little if a dog barks at me or I see a stray cat, but I take gentle and patient corrections well. I am kind to the housecat in my foster home. I want to play with her, but she only wants to play 'scratch my face' so I just jump back and walk away. I am good with other dogs who are friendly and do not challenge me by being mean. I'm calm enough to hang out with my foster grandma. I would not do well with small kids who may climb on me, pull my fur, or otherwise be rough with me. I'm not the best at training as I keep laying down for rubs and pets. But I'm well-behaved and don't seem to need training other than maybe a little socialization. I will guard you against strangers on the street but will warm up to them if given a moment to sniff them out. I am friendly to guests brought into the home. I become melty schmelty and will gently tilt my head over into a visitor's arms or lap. I am learning to enjoy showers because of the massage I get when you lather the shampoo into my fur. It feels so nice!! I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative. I'm being fostered in Franklin, TN. If you're looking for a mild-mannered and affectionate dog, I'm your girl.
