About Maxie

My girlfriend and I came across this little fella with no collar yesterday (2/1) being removed from a Reasor's by the store manager. We volunteered to take him to the vet to get him chip checked, but the scanner revealed no such chip. It was late, so we decided to take him for the night until searching for his owner in the morning. We took him to an animal hospital today to get his shots and make sure he's up to date on any medical requirements. He's all checked out and good to go! A wonderfully sweet cuddle bug, he's estimated to be 10 months old at 30 pounds. He's a bit skittish with women at first, but warms up quickly when approached non-aggressively. Quite frankly, it seems as if he was physically abused by his previous owner. He smelled heavily of cigarettes when we found him and expresses fearfully submissive behavior whenever loud noises occur within earshot. We have very little interest in returning him to whoever owned him prior, but I'm very allergic to his breed, so finding him a home quickly is of the utmost importance. Is there anyone out there that can take this beautiful boy?
