About Rosie

Boxer / Pit Bull
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Please consider making Rosie a part of your family. A couple of months ago I had some horrible person throw out this sweet boxer/pittie mix right in front of me on the Grand Parkway. I immediately grabbed her and took her home. She was covered in scars, starving, severely dehydrated, and had clearly been mistreated. We fell in love with her right away and our youngest son named her Rosie. We took her to get vaccinated and spayed... First, they discovered that she had a herniated umbilical that needed repaired. Then she had a GDV (Gastric Dilatation and Volvulus), and her stomach blew right up and filled with fluid... twice! (Thankfully, it didn't roll.) So once the doctor stabilized Rosie, she had to immediately perform an emergency gastropexy. So she has been completely vaccinated, spayed, had an umbilical hernia repair, and a GDV repair. We originally planned to make Rosie part of our family, as she got along with all of our dogs to begin with. Unfortunately, as time has passed, she doesn't get along with 2 of our dogs, aggressively... as in they've had serious fights. I have been keeping her separate from the two that butt heads with her but I have serious medical issues that are making it harder on me. Rosie is truly a sweetheart and if she got along with all of our dogs, or cats (she likes to chase them), we would keep her in a minute! I believe she would make an amazing companion, in a home where she was the only pet. Brown & white Female Boxer/Pittie mix 60-65 lbs Completely vaccinated Spayed Umbilical hernia repair GDV repair She LOVES to play and really enjoys all her toys. She is 100% housebroken and sits on command. She understands 'No' well and 'Time for bed, go lay down.' She takes treats very gently. She is super strong and yet easily trainable. She hasn't needed to be kenneled at all. We keep her separate from the ones she doesn't get along with by gating her in a separate area of the house. She has the front room and foyer to herself and has never chewed up or destroyed anything... not even her toys. She loves cucumber slices. She is a big cuddle bug and wonderful with our 11 yr old son but not sure about small children.
