About Sumi

Meet Sumi! She is a 13 year old purebred blue merle mini australian shepherd. Don't let her age fool you! Everyone who meets her thinks she's still a young dog. Sumi still has A LOT of life left in her. She has never met a human she didn't love. She currently lives in our home with a very rambunctious young child, a baby, two chihuahuas, and a macaw. She gets along with all dogs, big and small, and ignores cats. She is still very spritely and loves to run and play. She still bounces around like she's a puppy. She doesn't have any allergies or health issues and is house trained. (Disclaimer: She is getting older and will resort to having an accident in the house if she's left with no access to the outdoors.) She walks great on a leash and loves car rides. Whatever you're doing, she's along for the adventure! I'm looking for the perfect home for her because I realize that I have not been the owner she deserves for a long time now. Sumi would be a wonderful dog for anyone who wants a constant companion. She LOVES people and always wants to be by your side. I'm in way over my head with raising young children and a house full of pets. Sumi's only downfall is that she never wants to be alone. She will bark if left in a room of the house alone. She will pace outside the door and whine to come in if she has run of the house but you're behind a closed door. Due to her age, she's losing her hearing, so verbal corrections or talking to her doesn't work. She is NOT destructive at all despite her not wanting to be alone. She will however still kennel up and sleep alone at night. I am not in a rush to rehome her. She is a wonderful dog who deserves a wonderful home where she can continue to grow old and make someone a very happy owner. I work from home and my work conditions do not allow for me to have her by my side all the time, and this really upsets her. Again, she doesnt have destructive separation anxiety, but I feel bad enough about her to know that she'd be much happier in a home where someone can spoil her like she deserves.
