About Wylie

German Shepherd mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Meet adoptable Wylie! %9D%A4 First off, we LOVE THIS GUY, but he does have a pretty sad back story. He was seized from his previous owners due to neglect at the end of November, and was all skin and bones when he arrived here. Since he was so emaciated, we wanted to give him time to get his health right before posting him for adoption. Wylie is one of the sweetest guys ever, and adores affection. He was kept outside on a lead where he was ignored most of the time, so it makes sense that he craves human attention so badly. Wylie can be a bit wild at times, and gets short bursts of energy where all he wants to do is play. We chalk this up to him being young and honestly just happy to be cared for. His energetic bursts are short lived, and most the time he is content with just cuddling in your lap. Wylie is loyal, and if you adopt him you will never find yourself alone again. He is the type of dog that is always by your side! He has learned how to walk on a leash recently, and is very gentle on it. Wylie was initially labeled at 'not dog friendly', but over time he has become a lot better with other dogs and actually really likes to play with others. We think that part of the reason he wasn't so nice to others at first was due to being starved and neglected that he felt that he had to fight for basic resources and attention. Now that he's gotten healthier, he adores other dogs and would make a great playmate for yours. We think he would be excellent in a home with kids! %9D%A4 Wylie is around two years old and 45 pounds. He has received his first vaccines in shelter, has been dewormed and has tested positive for heartworm disease.
