I have a predicament. Very long story short- I took possession of a senior dog names Maximus after he was seized from the city from his prior adopter (someone whom adopted him from me over 10 years ago). His microchip was still under my name, so the city called me. They were going to put him down, so I ran to grab him whatever the outcome- if he needed to be put to rest, it certainly wasn't going to happen at the shelter alone. I took him to the vet to have him laid to rest, but wanted a blood test first. Turns out his blood work is clean (I'm taking him for a follow up on the 3rd to triple check all the things), so I ended up taking him home. I have 7 rescue cats and a wheelchaired roommate that does not want dogs in her house. I am driving back and forth to a friends house that has graciously let Max rent a room. Long story short he is malnourished, worm infested (no heartworms thought yay!), bad arthritis (I have him on meds) and some allergies. He has come leaps and bounds in the 2 1/2 weeks I have had him, but I cannot keep him. Is there anyway y'all can help him live out his golden years cared for the way he should have been all along? He is a huge cuddle bug and just wants to eat food with his human and sleep. Thank you!
