Name: Tesha Age: Born 3/26/2023 Breed: Bulldog/American Pit Bull Terrier mix, 24 pounds Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: Harris County, TX Tesha is a cuddler who likes to be brushed and sit on your lap!! Due to changing work and school schedules, Tesha's owner would like to find a home for her where she will be given the attention and caring she needs, especially since she is such a young dog. Vet Info: Tesha is not spayed or microchipped. She was dewormed in September 2023. At that time, she also received a one year Rabies shot and a one year Distemper/Parvovirus (DHPP) vaccine. Tesha has seen a veterinary ophthalmologist who said that her eyes are healthy with possible optic neuritis, which is optic nerve inflammation causing blurred, dim, and grey vision. This might be able to resolve itself with time, but that is not certain. Otherwise, we're told that Tesha is a very healthy dog. Dog Info: Tesha is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is not housebroken, but she is leash trained. She responds to cues for her name, Come Here Teshy, and Come Eat. Her owner tells us, 'She has been around children, men and women, teenagers. She acts well around other dogs as well. When she gets too excited or overwhelmed with her surroundings she slides backwards trying to get away from whatever might be around her. She likes to walk around finding voices that are familiar to her. No aggression has come from her at all. She has been around other dogs, and she just sniffs, and, if she bumps into them, she will put her little paws on them to feel them. She loves water, she will do what I call 'splish, splash' parties with her bowl, because she will climb and put her paws and just splash the water. In summer times I would fill a little kiddie pool to half her leg length and let her splash all she wants.' Tesha is not possessive with treats, toys, or food. She has no bite history. Due to her blindness, Tesha can be nervous at times and very cautious of her surroundings. Her owner tells us that when she is being petted, she likes to be petted gently on her back, but she loves belly rubs. Her sense of smell is very good.
