About Otis

Adoption Fee: $500
Great Pyrenees
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Otis (approx. 130 lbs) is 1 of 2 herd guardians we have for our Nigerian Dwarf Goats. He is great with the goats and great with people. Our challenge is that he is very food and affection protective with our other Great Pyrenees and sometimes can get very aggressive with him. He has NEVER been food aggressive with my wife or me even if we handle his food while he's eating, it is only with our other dog (we don't feed him if the goats are able to come near the food so there is a seperate area for feeding him). He eats about 1-60lb bag of kibble per month (roughly). Outside of this issue, he is obedient and very affectionate. He is an outside dog, but times where he has been brought in overnight due to dangerous winds, we had no housebreaking accidents. He will sit nicely and does not have a habit of jumping or pawing when interacting with him. We are scheduling both our boys to be neutered, in the off chance that this will help change the aggression, but I'm not hopeful. He would probably do best on a farm where he is the only dog. We don't know how he is with cats, our cats steer clear. Most of the pics I have right now show him dirty due to all the mud from the weather lately. I'll upload a recent pic when I can get him cleaned up. If you are in the area and want to meet him on the farm, please reach out.
