Elmer is an eleven lb. Chi mix that is full of love and kisses. We believe him to be approximately 8 years young with a zest for life. Even though he was abused by his former male owner, we have found him to be very trusting and loving with male humans while in foster care. He did great while taking pictures with Santa, which we all know is a male. He can be easily spooked with fast movements but builds trust quickly once he realizes that he is safe from harm. Elmer shows his affection by covering you in kisses and being super snuggly with his cuddles. If dog kisses aren't your thing, Elmer's need to provide his kisses could be a little ridiculous and overwhelming. He is also happy to just sit in your lap or lay in the crook of your arm to take a nap. Elmer is reluctant to getting in his crate, once he is in it, he will bark and grumble for a short time but will eventually settle down. When he is let out of his crate, he will jump up while walking to the door to go outside to do his business. Elmer gets along fine with all dogs, big and small in his foster home. He did some marking when first arriving to his foster home, this stopped after one week of his arrival. Elmers's teeth look really good for his age, very little tarter and 'decent' breath. If you would like to meet this cute little guy and possibly add him to your family, please complete an application at PawPatrolDayton.com. His adoption fee is $210. Elmer is neutered, current on vaccinations, Heartworm negative and is on prevention, and he is microchipped.
