About Pumpernickel

INDOOR ONLY HOMES PLEASE Pumpernickel was rescued on October 5, 2023. He is one of twenty rabbits rescued from a neighborhood in Murrieta where a resident released rabbits into the streets to fend for themselves. He is a small rabbit weighing approximately 3.3 pounds. He might like a female friend if you have a spayed rabbit needing companionship. His estimated date of birth is June of 2023. He was neutered on January 15, 2024. Pumpernickel should start out living in an exercise pen (x-pen) otherwise known as a puppy pen. He can have that as his home base or transition to a room or a section of a room or free roaming. A cage/hutch is not recommended unless the door is open and an x-pen can be placed around it. Please be over 21 if inquiring about a rabbit. Pumpernickel can be seen by appointment in Lake Elsinore after a questionnaire is completed or a phone consultation conducted. On adoption day, plan to spend approximately one hour at the rescue going over paperwork and general rabbit care information. Delivery is available up to 100 miles from Lake Elsinore. PLEASE consult with the rescue before you purchase rabbit supplies so you can be directed to the least expensive and most appropriate rabbit essentials, especially if you've never had the pleasure of owning a rabbit! Your local big chain pet store is probably NOT the best place to buy rabbit supplies! If you are seeking a rabbit as a companion for your existing rabbit, your rabbit should be spayed/neutered. Male/female bondings are usually recommended.
