About LUVIE

To meet LUVIE and be considered for adoption you must first submit an ADOPTION APPLICATION using this link- https://form.jotform.com/232395363383057 or by filling out an application on our website- www.aplaceofhoperescue.com LUVIE is a 1 year old, 13 pound Chihuahua mix who was pulled from a shelter along with her two puppies. LOCATION: Pensacola, FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, no kids. Luvie takes a minute to know someone and then she is a loving, friendly girl! She will run around your legs and jump up, so happy to see you. She gives lots of kisses too. Luvie is happiest snuggled up on the couch with her foster family. Her foster mom said she likes to find comfy little hiding spaces in the couch behind them or between the cushions to cuddle up in. Luvie is very playful, both with her person and with other dogs. She thinks it's great fun to run after a ball but doesn't know how to bring it back yet. She is good with other dogs, but would probably be fine as an only too. She is really enjoying hanging out with the other dogs in her foster home though! We don't think kids are a good fit and have not had her around cats. Luvie barks at new people and seems a bit nervous when people come at her quickly. She likes to say hi at her own pace! She is very food motivated and you can win her affection with snacks and treats. Luvie seems potty trained. She knows how to use a doggy door and we believe she needs a fenced yard. She does walk well on a leash but can be a little timid of new people and other dogs. At night Luvie likes to sleep under the covers in the bed with her people. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, wormed, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Luvie is a beautiful little girl who deserves a good family to love her forever! *We are located in Pensacola Florida. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted.
