Not only do I pull at heart strings, but I also pull on leash! I will need someone to help me with my leash manners. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. I'm ready to learn! I need a patient person who has the time to work on training with me. WOODY, ID#185586, 2yrs old, 61lbs, male, Manhattan ACC large Mixed Breed,, color black Surrender Reason: stray Shelter Assessment Rating: Level 3 No children (under 13) AT RISK MEMO Woody is on emergency placement for behavioral reasons. Though social with many caretakers, he has displayed instances of growling or 'stranger danger', startling easily. Medically, he has dermatitis. Woody arrived to ACC with no known history he initially presented fearfully, growling when the kennel was approached. With time he has been able to warm up, appearing social and wiggly with many handlers and allowing walks. It has however been noted what Woody may spook easily the presence of select handlers, at one point growling on the way back to his kennel. He remains social with known handlers but would likely succeed best if given time to decompress and acclimate to a home environment with experienced caretakers.
