About Dexter

Dexter is a healthy and happy senior shih-tzu who loves to snuggle and play. We 'adopted' him when my Mom, who got him from a breeder when he was a puppy, could no longer care for him due to illness. He is very loyal to the people he loves and was good with our family, but he wasn't socialized so he's fearful of strangers and other dogs and can become aggressive if either come into his territory. These aggressive tendencies have been exacerbated by the move and new environment and we can no longer assume the risk associated with caring for him. We think Dexter would be comfortable in a low traffic home with no kids or other animals. He is a very sweet boy once he gets to know you, so it pains us to give him up, but unfortunately we have a busy household with two young kids and a lot of friends and family (strangers to Dexter) coming in and out.
