Holly Berry (Holly) is estimated to be around 1.5 years old, and is 54 lbs. She's a happy, high-energy girl. We first saw Holly on a shelter kill list so we fought to get her an extension on her euthanization date. We were successful so we were able to get her out of the shelter, and arranged to get her fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. She's now ready to travel to NJ on the next transport to meet her new family. She is very friendly and looking for someone to love her. She adores belly rubs and will happily drop in your lap for snuggles. She gets very excited when she meets new people. She wags her tail hard and fast. Holly is a strong girl, but she walks well on a leash. She is afraid of fireworks. She is playful - one of her favorite games is fetch, and she's pretty good at catching a ball mid-air. We do recommend kids 15 and up due to her higher energy and strength. Holly is good with other dogs but can be selective. If another dog is too dominant she'll challenge them so she would probably do best in a home where she is an only dog. The best home for Holly will be an active family with kids that are 15 years or older. A high non-chain link fenced backyard would be best for her. And she would do well with an owner who has experience with Shepherds or similar large high-energy breeds. She should be the only pet, or live with a submissive dog. She's okay with outside dogs but does play rough.
