About PEBBLES

Adoption Fee: $50
Bulldog / Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Pebbles is a sweet dog who is very intimidating and on the bossy side. Did DNA test she is 57% Bulldog and 11% Husky but she looks like a Pittie. She is up to date on her shots. When my niece lost her apartment Pebbles came to live with me and my 2 mini aussies but she only gets along with one of them. Pebbles cuddles and plays nice with the one she likes. The other smaller one she steals toys and barks at when he tries to get it back. She barks aggressively at him and tries to dominate him. Oddly enough my little dog is the only dog I've seen her act that way toward. I take her to the dog park often and although she bossy barks at other dogs she isn't aggressive with the dog park dogs. She does well dogs that are bigger than her that she can't boss around. She did really well with the male German Shepherd mix she used to live with. She does well with my niece's son who she has lived with since he was 2 years old. Pebbles absolutely should not be around smaller animals like cats, rabbits or dogs smaller than herself. She has only lived with male dogs so I don't know how well she would tolerate another female dog. She loves tennis balls and will fetch them but doesn't like to give them back to be thrown again. She destroys stuffed toys. I find Buffalo horns work well. They keep her teeth clean and she can't tear them up. She loves to give kisses but it's a little scary because when she comes in for a kiss it looks like she will bite your face off. We are working on close your mouth and Eskimo kisses. She is about 55 lb and likes to get up on your lap occasionally standing up. She is getting better at laying down when getting on your lap. She sees my minis sit on my lap so she tries to as well but she will get down when you tell her to. She is kennel trained and will go to kennel on command but she doesn't like it and will bark for a minute before she settles. It's 50/50 she won't bark if sent to kennel. Many times she will go the kennel on her own without being told to she just doesn't like to be locked in. She loves people and will solicit belly rubs. She doesn't like being groomed. She will submit to brushing pretty easily but doesn't like getting her nails cut or her ears cleaned. She also reacts badly to going to the vet for shots. I took her a few months ago to get Parvo shot and she howled and cried like she was being abused. We don't know why she does this. While my niece didn't get her the obedience training she needed as a pup she was not abused. She will sit if you tell her 'sit' and give the hand signal. She will down if a treat is involved. Not so good with stay or leave it. She can also spin and give paw. Pebbles is well loved and we would keep her if she got along with both my dogs.
