About Ace

Adoption Fee: $500.00
Maltese
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Introducing ACE! Ace is a 3 year old, 10.4 pound Maltese LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Consistency and attention HIGHLIGHTS: Love bug! Ace came to the rescue after his owner died. He was discovered locked in a crate, extremely matted, and covered in fleas. It took him about a week, but he is now settling into his new life after some big changes in his life. Ace is a sweet boy who loves to be held and cuddled and gives the love right back. He loves head scratches, pets, and being snuggled with his head tucked in as you walk around or sit. He'll return your affection by giving you the sweetest little kisses. Ace will also follow his person anywhere. Forget your phone on the table 10 feet from the couch? He's right there to escort you! Have to use the bathroom? He'll be outside standing guard! Once you sit back down, Ace will be back in your lap before you put your feet up. He would be best in a home where he has a person with him most of the time. Ace can get a bit jealous if any of the other dogs in his foster home are getting loved on. He'll try and push his way in to be sure he gets his time! We don't think he would be a good fit with a dog who is going to get jealous of the attention that he might get or who will be unwilling to share space and time. Ace would be fine as a single dog or with a passive dog. He just started trying to play with one of little dogs in his foster home and a play buddy would be nice for him too. He has good energy and is always game for playing with doggie toys, and is especially happy if you play tug-of-war with him! Cats are an unknown, as are kids. We think he would be okay with older, calmer kids who would give him some positive attention. Ace can be very vocal when he wants something (food and attention mostly) and is not a good fit for an apartment. His foster mom is working with him on this and he needs someone calm and consistent to continue working with him. One thing you won't need to work on with him is potty training! This boy has had zero accidents inside! Ace has been leash walked a little and seems to be okay with it. We think a fenced yard is best for him so he can run and play and not build up too much energy. Ace sleeps through the night in his crate. He has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, neutered, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
